Arguably the international capital of the electronic music scene, Ibiza is known for hosting some of the best all-night parties in Europe, with clubbing hubs in Ibiza Town and San Antonio. The little island is home to Privilege Ibiza—billed as the world’s largest nightclub—which showcases talent from some of the best-known DJs on the planet.
However, there’s a lot more to the little Spanish holiday destination than all-night rave parties—there are many sleepier parts of Ibiza that many find provide excellent respite from the throngs of revellers. Young families will love the tiny resort of Portinatx, which has a number of activities aimed at children and adults alike. Shopaholics will go mad for the region of Santa Eulària des Riu, home to a number of thriving markets and arguably the best place on the island to catch a glimpse of Ibiza’s traditional architecture.
Given that much of Ibiza caters to young, party-going types, there are plenty of established hotels and resorts with room rates to suit all budgets. Self-catering options are also widespread, providing a more homely feel for long-term visitors. Ibiza’s airport is only a few miles from Ibiza town, with regular connections to Madrid, Barcelona, Palma de Majorca and most major cities in Western Europe.
